How Do You Travel?
So how do you like to travel? My favorite method of travel is by plane but there is this drive in me (pun intended) when I get in the car and turn on to the highway, to just go and go and go until I can't drive any longer. I can totally relate to this song and to the Cars movie, which this video was shot for. So far, I have not had the opportunity to drive a race car around the track but I have dreamed or imagined it as I have driven around town in my little 5 speed Honda.
Life's like a road that you travel on...
"Life's like a road that you travel on" is the opening line to this song by Rascal Flatts and that is so true. I am sure that you can think of many comparisons between life and the road that you travel on. As the song states, one day you're here and the next day you're gone is one comparison. Some others would be: you often have to take detours, you never know what conditions there will be from day to day, you have to keep refueling to be able to keep traveling, you travel till you feel like taking a break, you travel one day with a focus and a goal and a schedule and another time you may be just rambling, it's often much more enjoyable when you travel with a friend/friends, you need to follow the rules of the road when you travel so you don't get yourself in trouble...
Where Do You Travel?
In the Cars movie, they were going back to circa America by focusing on old Route 66, a forgotten essential cross country route from back in the early days of America, connecting the midwest and the west coast. I personally have not traveled on Route 66 but it is on my list of places to travel to when I get the chance. Where do you travel when you have free time to just go where you want to go? I still have yet to check out the Grand Canyon, hopefully I'll get there in the next year or two. Did you travel to California yet? Or Yellowstone? How about the Badland and Mount Rushmore? Then there's D.C. and Gettysburg, Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes. My personal favorites that must be included when you travel would be The Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Washington and Oregon Coasts, and the Hoh Rain Forest on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. Yes, a rain forest in the U.S. If you are limited when you travel as to how far you can go, pick something local that you have not been able to enjoy and take the time to relax and appreciate it.
Do It Right
When you travel, make sure you can do it right. Have a general plan but then let it happen as relaxed and organically as possible. Make sure there is some appreciation of the beauty around you and the people around you as you go. Don't be so caught up in the destination or the schedule when you travel that you don't enjoy the actually traveling times. Remember when you travel that you are on a journey to relax and break your routines and schedules to refresh your self, your mind and your relationships.
